Saved: Justification
Ephesians 2:8a & Romans 3:23-24
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“For by grace you have been saved through faith” & “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;” Ephesians 2:8a & Romans 3:23-24 NASB
As Judge, God declares the believer as legally just and righteous. This righteousness is not based on the believer’s actions but solely on Jesus. His blood cleanses the sinner and He imputes, credits, attributes, His righteousness to the believer. The believer is justified by God’s grace through faith in Jesus’ atoning propitiatory sacrifice. This aspect of salvation is described as justification, being made righteous in God’s sight.
Lord Jesus, though I am unworthy, by Your grace I am made righteous. Help me to make this righteousness apparent in my daily life and thus bring You glory and honor.
