Saving Grace
Ephesians 2:8

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;” Ephesians 2:8 NASB

This familiar and notable verse is the climax of this exceptional passage. It proclaims that it is God’s grace that saves sinners through faith in Christ. Grace is God’s favor which He bestows on those who could never merit or deserve it. He gifts salvation, redemption, regeneration, reconciliation, justification, sanctification, and ultimately glorification on those who place their faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. God’s amazing gift of grace provides all that is needed for the saving of souls.

Lord Jesus, I completely trust in Your saving grace. I am awestruck that You have forgiven and cleansed my sin, that You have given me a new life, and that You are teaching me how to live in righteousness.
