All of Us
Ephesians 2:3b

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.” Ephesians 2:3 NASB

Paul declares that all people, both Jews and Gentiles, deserve the wrath of God. Being influenced by the world, the devil, and the flesh, all of us walked in a lifestyle of disobedience and in rebellion against God. All humanity by nature are not children of God but children of wrath. Without Christ all people are dead, spiritually dead, in their trespasses and sins, and all stand judged and condemned under the wrath of God. But God in His grace has provided salvation and life through faith in Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I was once wretched, depraved, condemned, and dead in my sin and subject to God’s wrath. Now by God’s grace, I have salvation and new life in You.
