Without Christ
Ephesians 2:12a

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world.” Ephesians 2:12 CSB

Paul described five ways the Gentiles were spiritually bankrupt. First, they were without Christ. While their culture was filled with religions and gods, they had no expectation or concept of a coming Messiah, a Redeemer who would save them from their sin. Without Christ they had no forgiveness of sin. Second, they were aliens, separated and excluded from citizenship in Israel. Since they were not part of God’s chosen people, they had limited knowledge of God’s laws and commands.

Lord Jesus, help me to share Your gospel message for many people continue to be without understanding of Your salvation or of Your Word, the Bible.
