Were Dead
Ephesians 2:1

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,” Ephesians 2:1 NASB

Why do so many people not understand the truths of the Bible? Because they are dead, spiritually dead. The cause of death is their trespasses, which are false steps and lapses in actions, and their sins, which are missing the mark of perfection. Their sin has begun to reap its wages of death, blinding them from truly comprehending and accepting spiritual truths. Paul reminded the Ephesian believers that they were once dead in sin, but now they were alive in Christ. With the same incredible power that raised Christ from physical death, God had breathed spiritual life into the believers.

Lord Jesus, I am awestruck by Your great grace and mercy that forgives and cleanses me of my sin. I praise You for I was dead but now I have life in You.
