Blessings and Praises
Ephesians 1:3

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,” Ephesians 1:3 NASB

Paul begins a long and complex passage of blessing, praising, and worshiping God by reminding us that God has blessed us in and through Christ. These blessings are not material but spiritual and heavenly. God the Father is to be blessed because He has given us, by His glorious grace, salvation in Christ the Son, a salvation that is guaranteed and sealed by the Holy Spirit for God’s glory. When we bless God, we speak well of, acclaim, applaud, exalt, extol, laud, magnify, and praise Him.

Lord God, I worship You for You have graciously and richly blessed me with the forgiveness of my sins and redemption of my soul. Let all that I say and do praise and glorify You.
