From God the Father and the Son
Ephesians 1:2b

The Upward Look

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 1:2 CSB

The themes of grace and peace appear throughout the Ephesians letter as Paul emphasizes that by God’s grace we are saved through faith in Christ. It is because of the grace of God that we can have reconciliation and peace with God. The grace and peace, that floods the believer’s soul through the indwelling presence of God the Holy Spirit, come from God the Father and God the Son. Paul acknowledges the deity of Jesus by declaring that He is coequal with the Father in providing this grace and peace.

Lord God, while not grasping all that is involved, I acknowledge that You are the Holy Trinity, Three in One. I am saved by Your grace and comforted by Your peace.
