The Church
Ephesians 1:23

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“. . . gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Ephesians 1:22b-23 NASB

Christ is the head, the ruler, the authority, the leader, of the church. The church is Christ’s body, His presence on the earth. It could be illustrated as the church being the hands and feet of Jesus, carrying out His mission. The church is to witness, telling others the gospel of Jesus. The church is to worship, glorifying and praising God. The church is to minister, caring for the needs of others. The church is to teach, training disciples in the ways of Christ. It is Christ who fills the church with holiness, power, and blessing to carry out His mission.

Lord Jesus, may Your church, and even my life, be guided and empowered to be on mission, representing You this day so that You will be glorified.
