The Message of Truth
Ephesians 1:13

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,” Ephesians 1:13 NASB

Paul continued the doxology by pouring forth his praise to God the Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. Paul reminded the Ephesian Gentiles that they listened to and believed the gospel of salvation. The gospel is the good news that God the Father sent Jesus the Son to save the lost, to redeem them from slavery to sin. As the message of truth was presented to Gentiles, God the Holy Spirit drew individuals to faith in Christ and sealed them in Christ by His presence in them.

Lord Jesus, Your Word, the Bible, is truth, and it tells us how to be saved from our sin. In a world filled with sin and lawlessness, help me to share with others this good news!
