“Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless.” 2 Peter 3:14 NASB
As Peter is bringing his letter to a close, he implores his readers to diligently live holy and godly lives. The motivation to live this godly lifestyle emanates from the realization that Christ will return to judge this world and establish His eternal Kingdom. To be diligent is to make every effort. Thus it is a priority for the believer to live in a way that is pleasing to God. This life is not perfection but an earnest striving to live according to what Christ demands.
Lord Jesus, as I look for Your coming, help me to live according to Your Word. I yearn to be pure, holy, and godly in all that I do.
