True Freedom
2 Peter 2:19

“They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them.” 2 Peter 2:19 HCSB
These false teachers promised that their followers would be free. Too often freedom is defined as being free to do whatever you desire. To some it might seem that if a person is free from judgment, then that means he can now do whatever he wants. In reality that type of freedom is simply being enslaved to depravity, corruption, and destruction. These false teachers were in fact enslaved and controlled by the sensual desires that enticed them into sin.
Lord Jesus, thank You for setting me free from the slavery of sin. I seek true freedom to obey Your Word, doing what is righteous and holy.
