“For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:8 NIV
Having listed the virtuous and godly characteristics of a believer, Peter states that these qualities should be increasingly evident and discernible in the life of the believer. This character transformation and spiritual growth is an ongoing life-long process of learning and becoming. This growing process will lead one to become effective and fruitful in life as opposed to idly passing the days unproductively with no purpose. The believer should be growing in his knowledge and understanding of the Lord that changes his character and conduct to be more like Jesus.
Lord Jesus, help me to continually grow in my knowledge of You and Your Word. I desire that by my character and conduct that it would be evident to others that You are my Savior and Lord.
