“Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” 2 Peter 1:2 NIV

In a believer’s typical greeting, Peter blesses his readers, desiring that grace and peace would completely fill their lives. Grace refers to God’s gift of blessings to a person which he does not deserve. It is by God’s grace that a person is given salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Peace is the wholeness or completeness of life that comes no matter the circumstances one faces. This peace only comes from God and is based on trust in God’s sovereignty. These blessings come in abundance through a growing knowledge of God that is personal and intimate.

Lord Jesus, I am amazed that You would bless me with grace, peace, and knowledge. I desire to draw closer to You, to know You, to learn of You, and to follow You each day of my life.
