“For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, a voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory: This is My beloved Son. I take delight in Him! And we heard this voice when it came from heaven while we were with Him on the holy mountain.” 2 Peter 1:17-18 HCSB

Peter describes the experience he, James, and John witnessed on the mount of transfiguration. There they saw Jesus in His glory and heard the voice of the Father honoring the Son. This powerful scene clearly portrays the deity of Jesus as God the Father shared His majestic glory with God the Son. The transfiguration was a foreshadowing of the glory and majesty of Christ that will be seen in power in the coming future kingdom.

Lord Jesus, in awe and wonder I think of Your majesty and glory that one day I will see with my own eyes. I now honor You by learning and obeying Your Word, the Bible.
