“I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, in keeping with a command we have received from the Father.” 2 John 4 HCSB

Whether John had met some of the chosen lady’s children in person or had just heard of them, he expressed his joy in their walking in truth. “Some” does not indicate that others were not walking in truth, it simply means that John had only met or heard of some of the children. The children may have been the physical children of the lady, or members of the particular church to which John was writing. “Walking in truth” means they were obeying the commands of God. Their everyday lives were controlled by God and His Word. They believed God’s Word and lived God’s Word.

Lord Jesus, help me to put Your Word into practice in my life so that I will walk in truth. I wish to honor You with all I do.
