“The children of your chosen sister greet you.” 2 John 13 NASB

John concludes this affectionate letter of warning motivated by love with an unusual greeting. The “chosen sister” may either be the actual sister of the elect lady of verse 1 or a sister church depending on how one interprets these references. If one thinks it is a reference to a church, then the children would be the church members. Either way John is extending a greeting from one set of believers to another. It is a worthy principle to show interest, concern and compassion for believers from other churches and communities.

Lord Jesus, I am thankful for the broader sense of Christian family that all believers are brothers and sisters in Christ. Help me to demonstrate Your great love when I meet and greet other believers.
