“For it brings favor if, because of conscience toward God, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.” 1 Peter 2:19 HCSB

When faced with undeserved and unjust punishment or suffering, Peter declares that the submissive slave should remember the undeserved and unjust suffering of Jesus. He also should remember that God loves and cares for every believer. Being conscious of the presence, care, and power of God in his life, the believer would find the necessary strength from God to persevere during unjust suffering. God would bestow upon the believing slave His favor and grace to endure such grief.

Lord Jesus, help me to keep my mind focused on You so that I can honor and glorify You, my Savior, even while being treated unjustly and suffering for doing right. Let Your grace, mercy, and love be seen in my life this day.
