“Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.” 1 Peter 2:16 NIV
Believers are free! Free from the bonds of sin and law. Free from guilt of the past and dread of the future. Yet this freedom does not give believers a license to do what is wrong. It is not a release from all restraint, nor a moral license to do as one pleases. Just because one is forgiven from all sin does not mean that he can then do anything he desires. Believers are servants, bondslaves of God. Believers have an obligation to loyally obey God and to seek and follow His will and purpose in all things. True freedom demands responsibility.
Lord Jesus, I willingly choose to follow You and to submit to Your will. Teach me how to live in freedom as Your servant.
