“You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy.” 1 Peter 1:8 HCSB
Peter wrote to those who had never seen Jesus in person, yet they loved Him and believed in Him. This devotion was a continual love relationship based on trust and confidence in who Jesus was and what He did. These believers trusted Jesus no matter what circumstances they found themselves in. The trials and troubles of life did not change their love, belief, nor their joy. Their joy was also based on their trust and confidence in Jesus. This joy was so profound that it was indescribable. It was a joy grounded in God’s glory as they felt God’s presence with them even in the midst of suffering.
Lord Jesus, though I have never seen You with my eyes, I love and trust You. No matter what happens today, let Your joy fill my life.
