“And if you address as Father the One who judges impartially based on each one’s work, you are to conduct yourselves in reverence during this time of temporary residence.” 1 Peter 1:17 HCSB
While God is Father to those who believe, He is also Judge. He will judge fairly and without prejudice. He will judge people based on what one does. It is to be noted that conduct springs from one’s character. God has commanded that the believer’s character be holy, be set apart from sin, and be morally pure. This holy character will be reflected in one’s deeds. The believer must have reverential fear or awe for God, realizing that He is the holy and righteous judge and that all will face judgment when this temporary life on earth is done.
Lord Jesus, help me to honor You in all that I think and do. When my short time on earth is done, I pray that I will be judged as having a holy character and bring glory to You.
