“And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” 1 John 5:20 NASB

The final things John wants his readers to know are that God’s Son has come, that He is the true God we can know by experience, and that all who believe in Him are united with Him for eternity. The Son of God came and His presence continues with us. Jesus Christ is the one and only true Son of God. There is no other. Only through Jesus can we know the true God and abide in Him. Those who believe in Jesus will have a continual personal relationship with God forever.

Lord Jesus, I am amazed at what You have done so that I can have a personal relationship with You. I thank You for the salvation and eternal life You provide.
