“We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.” 1 John 4:6 NIV
How does one react and respond to God’s Word? One’s reaction is the clear way to discern if one has a genuine relationship with God. If one listens to and obeys God’s Word, then he has God’s Spirit within him. If one refuses to listen and obey the Bible, then he has the spirit of falsehood within him. Jesus stated that His sheep know Him and listen to His voice. The true believer has a desire to wholly follow Jesus and His teachings.
Lord Jesus, I want to learn and obey what the Bible says. Help me to listen, read, study, comprehend, and apply Your Word.
