“This is how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.” 1 John 4:2 HCSB

How do you recognize if a speaker is teaching the truth? Listen carefully to what he says about Jesus. Does he acknowledge that Jesus is God who came in human form? The false teachers in John’s time were saying that the Spirit of God only came upon Jesus at His baptism and left Him before His crucifixion. John states that Jesus, the Son of God, became a human, lived a perfect life, died on the cross as the sacrifice of our sins, was buried, and arose on the third day alive again to give us eternal life.

Lord Jesus, I do believe You are the Christ who came to forgive sin and to give eternal life. Help me today to tell someone about Your great love and gift of life.
