“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” 1 John 4:14 NIV

John again gives witness to what he had seen with his eyes. What John saw was in the past, but the consequences continue to have meaning in his day and for all of time. John saw Jesus, the Son that the Father had sent with the purpose of providing salvation to those who would trust in the Son’s atoning work. This mission to provide a Savior was in the past, but it continues throughout eternity to provide salvation for all who confess Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.

Lord Jesus, I too testify that You have saved me, cleansing me of my sin and providing me eternal life by Your atoning sacrifice on Calvary’s cross. Help me to tell someone this day about the salvation You provide.
