"And you know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin." 1 John 3:5 NASB

Jesus came from heaven to earth specifically to deal with our sins. Jesus left His home in glory and appeared on earth to be the sacrifice that would “take away,” “remove,” “bear up,” or “lift and carry away” the sins of those who would trust in Him. There is no sin in Jesus, not in His past, present, or future. Thus Jesus was the perfect sacrifice to pay for our sins and to redeem us by destroying the power of sin so that we would have victory over the practice, the habit, of sin.

Lord Jesus, I am amazed at all You did for me by Your sacrifice on Calvary’s cross. Help me to live this day, by Your power, victorious over sin.
