“By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.” 1 John 2:6 NASB

One knows that he has a relationship with Jesus if his life is like Jesus’ life. A disciple is one who “abides in Him.” The idea of abiding is that of a close, intimate fellowship and relationship with Jesus that is consistent and constant. A disciple is one who “walks in the same manner as He walked.” “Walk” refers to the manner of one’s life, conduct, and actions. Thus, a disciple’s life is a reflection of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, You are my model for how to live my life. Help me to live so that others see Jesus in my life.
