“The one who loves his brother abides in the light and there is no cause for stumbling in him.” 1 John 2:10 NASB

To “love” a brother is an act of the will not an emotion. Agape love is a desire for the best for the other person. The believer shows that he is dwelling in the light of God by showing agape love to others. “Stumbling” can mean to trip up, fall, offend, or to be a hindrance in the person’s Christian walk. The believer will not stumble or cause others to stumble when he loves and remains in the light of God.

Lord Jesus, You are my guiding light as I walk down the path of life. Help me to love others in the same way You love them.
