“What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1:3 NASB

John and others were proclaiming Jesus as the eternal Word of life. Their purpose in proclaiming was so that others would believe and have fellowship with the disciples and with God. This fellowship was a common bond of closeness that continually drew them together in faith and love. It was a sharing of common beliefs and a partnering in common tasks. This fellowship was with each other and with God the Father and God the Son. As believers in the Lord Jesus, we are to be drawing closer to one another and to God.

Lord Jesus, draw me closer to You and to other believers. I long to live in harmonious fellowship that proclaims Your great love.
