Foolishness!
1 Corinthians 2:14

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.” 1 Corinthians 2:14 NASB

Bah humbug! Rejected with disdain and contempt as a fabrication, nonsense, silliness, and foolishness! This grumpy dismissal is often how an unbeliever, a natural and worldly person reacts to Jesus, Calvary, salvation, the Bible, and godly things. On their own, a person cannot understand these spiritual things or relate to God properly. Spiritual truths must be appraised, evaluated, discerned, embraced, and applied with the help of the Spirit of God.

Lord Jesus, may Your Holy Spirit guide me and teach me the truths of the Bible. May I then live my life according to Your Word, exhibiting Your mercy, grace, and love.
