“What more can David say to You for honoring Your servant? You know Your servant. LORD, You have done all this greatness, making known all these great promises because of Your servant and according to Your will.” 1 Chronicles 17:18-19 HCSB

David was left almost speechless. God had highly honored him by declaring the great covenant promise that David’s descendants would sit on the throne of Israel and that the Messiah, the Anointed One, Christ Jesus, would come through his lineage. Yet David still calls himself God’s servant. Despite being the king, David considered his greatest title to be God’s servant. He was honored to serve and glorify God with his whole heart.

Lord Jesus, I am honored just to be able to serve You. Help me this day to glorify You in all that I do with my whole being, my heart, soul, mind, and strength.
