“Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation. Then King David went in and sat before the LORD.” 1 Chronicles 17:15-16a NIV

Nathan and David both exemplified humble obedience when confronted with a word from God. God had spoken to the prophet Nathan, giving him a message for David the King. Instead of ignoring God’s word, Nathan chose to obey God by faithfully reporting to David all the words revealed to him. Instead of angry rebellion because God would not allow him to build the temple, David submitted to God’s Lordship in humble worship and prayer. As God speaks through His Word, we are to obey.

Lord Jesus, as I study Your Word, the Bible, I hear Your voice. Help me to respond in humble, faithful obedience to Your commands and truths.
