“Let me hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in Thee; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to Thee I lift up my soul.” Psalm 143:8 NASB

In the darkest night of despair and difficulty, what brings us hope? David writes this Psalm while being persecuted by his enemy. During the gloomy night he longed for the presence of God. He yearned to experience God’s faithful, steadfast, unfailing, love and kindness in the morning. He trusted God to see him through the darkness and into the light of day. David desired to know and follow God’s ways. He sought direction and guidance from God as he sincerely called to Him in prayer.

Lord Jesus, in the midst of gloom and despair, I find hope in You. Fill me with Your love, mercy, and grace as I seek to follow Your way.
