"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5 NASB ©

We are to trust in God, not in ourselves. “Trust” means to place total confidence in, to have firm belief in, to commit to, and to act resulting from confidence placed in someone or something. We tend to trust our own understanding, to believe in our own abilities, to control our own lives, and to make our own decisions based on our own intelligence. This verse says that we are to trust God with all we have and all we are. This attitude is not that “I can do it myself,” but that “only God can do it right.”

Lord Jesus, I yield control of my life over to You. Lead me, guide me, and use me for Your work this day.
