“That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” Philippians 3:10 NASB

Paul desired for a deep, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. He wanted to experience the power that raised Jesus from the dead. It is God's power that triumphs over sin and death. He needed that power in order to live victorious over sin in his daily life. Paul desired to experience the sufferings of Jesus even to the point of His death. This includes the idea that Paul's old sinful life was dead and he was to live in the new life provided by Christ Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I am thankful for the new life You gave to me. I desire a deep, personal, growing, and daily relationship with You.
