“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.” Matthew 7:19-20 NASB

Jesus warns that judgment is coming. A fruit tree in an orchard that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and burned in a fire. The false teacher and the unbeliever will likewise eventually face the judgment fire. While you cannot judge a person’s heart, you can observe the fruit of their lives. False teachers and unbelievers become evident by the fruit of their lives. Jesus drives this point home by repeating the phrase found in verse 16, “you will know them by their fruits.”

Lord Jesus, before judgment comes, help me tell others about Your gift of salvation. Let the fruit of my life demonstrate my faith in You.
