“So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Matthew 6:31-32 NIV

The term “pagan” is used to describe a person who does not believe in God and does not trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. When a believer worries about his basic needs such as food and clothing, he is acting like a pagan. He is showing a lack of trust in the Heavenly Father who knows the needs of His children. Instead of worrying, the believer shows his trust in God’s provision by learning and obeying His Word, and by seeking first His kingdom and righteousness.

Lord Jesus, help me to walk daily in obedience to Your Word. I know You will provide my needs for I am trusting in Your love, grace, and mercy.
