“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” Matthew 6:25 NIV

Worry is an intense emotion that causes mental and emotional anxiety in one’s life. We often fixate on circumstances, things, or events that we have little or no control over. We often let little worries cast huge shadows over us, distracting our mind from the most important things. This verse begins a passage where Jesus is teaching believers not to worry but to trust God for all aspects of life.

Lord Jesus, there are so many details and situations that crowd my life and my mind and cause me to worry. Instead, help me to focus my thoughts on You, my refuge and my strength.
