Significant Places: Nazareth
Luke 2:39b-40

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“They returned to Galilee, to their own city of Nazareth. The Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.” Luke 2:39b-40 NASB

After the Christ Child was born in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary ultimately returned and settled in Nazareth, a seemingly insignificant simple village in Galilee. It was in this hometown of Nazareth where Jesus grew physically from a young child into a strong man. He also grew in wisdom through knowing, understanding, following, and obeying the Scriptures, the commands of God.

Lord Jesus, in this new year may I grow in wisdom and in Your grace. Teach me from Your Word, the Bible, how I am to live in Your grace and love in a way that honors and glorifies You.
