“The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.” Isaiah 9:2 NASB

A year that has seen much distress, turmoil, strife, evil, and darkness is coming to an end. A new year dawns, bringing hope of newness and change and hope for the light of God’s mercy and grace to shine brightly. This new hope is found in the baby born in a manger. This baby is the Light of the world, the Bright Morning Star. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is the Christ, God’s special Anointed One, the Messiah. He is Jesus, the One who will save His people from their sins.

Lord Jesus, in this world of darkness and discord, You are the light and hope. May the great light of Your grace, mercy, and love shine through me in this new year.
