Wives Submit
Ephesians 5:22

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:21-22 ESV

With the overarching principle of submitting to one another, Paul writes of three important relationships beginning with that of husband and wife. The wife is to submit voluntarily to her husband in a way that glorifies and honors Christ. This submission does not mean that a woman is inferior to a man, nor is it forced or demanded by a tyrannical and dictatorial husband. It is an understanding of the role of the wife in her response to the loving, caring, and selfless giving of her husband who seeks her best interest in Christ.

Lord Jesus, may my home be a loving and compassionate example of Your grace, mercy, and love as we seek to follow Your lordship.
