Striving to Attain
Ephesians 4:13

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,” Ephesians 4:13 ESV

Equipped by the spiritually gifted pastor-teachers and tasked with building up the body of Christ, the church, every believer continually strives to attain, to reach the desired destination found in these three goals. First, the church is to be unified in the faith, the body of doctrinal truths found solely in God’s Word, and unified through intimately knowing Christ. Second, every believer is to attain spiritual maturity. Third, every believer strives to attain the standard of Christ, becoming more and more like Jesus in character and deed.

Lord Jesus, I desire to continue growing in my relationship with You. Help me and Your church to become more like You.
