“We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you.” Colossians 1:3 NIV

Paul had a habit of praying as well as praying with thankfulness in his heart for the believers at Colossae. He was thankful for their faith in Jesus Christ, their love for other believers, and their hope and assurance of Heaven because of the gospel (verses 4-5). He thanked God for these who believed in God’s Son, Jesus Christ the Lord. In this season of Thanksgiving we need to thank God for those who believe in Jesus and to share the gospel with those who need salvation.

Lord God, I am so thankful for my Christian family, those in my local church and all over the world. Help me to always pray for them and for those who need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
