“Through these waters the world of that time perished when it was flooded.” 2 Peter 3:6 HCSB

Just as God created this world and all living things, during that ancient time He also judged and condemned the sinfulness of mankind. His judgment was carried out by flooding the entire world. Only the righteous Noah, his family, and the animals on the Ark were saved. Peter’s reply to the mockers and scoffers was that just as God judged the wicked in the ancient time, in the future He will also judge all mankind. God will keep His promises that the evil, wicked, and sinful will be judged.

Lord Jesus, I am thankful for the salvation that You provided for all who will trust in Your grace. Even now all who are condemned by their sinfulness can be forgiven and cleansed because of Your death and resurrection.
