“For if, having escaped the world's impurity through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first.” 2 Peter 2:20 HCSB

Having heard the gospel of Christ and having begun to learn and follow His ways, these false teachers again turned to a lifestyle of sin. They understood the gospel but chose to live in the impurity and corruption of the world instead of obeying God’s truth. Their words may even sound like the truth, but their actions condemn them as living in opposition to the truth.

Lord Jesus, only in You can I find salvation and live a holy lifestyle. I truly want to live in a victorious way by obeying Your Word and giving honor to You, my Lord and my God.
