“After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10 NASB

As Peter draws his letter to a conclusion, he reemphasizes that the suffering and persecution the believers were facing would only last a little while. Though the time might seem long to those going through the ordeal, it was only a blink of an eye in light of eternity. Peter reminds the suffering believers that because of God’s grace He would provide the strength needed to face each day. It is by God’s grace that the believers would persevere and be preserved. It is by God’s grace that believers will spend eternity in glory with Christ. It is all by God’s grace.

Lord Jesus, even as I face the struggles of this day, I trust You to guide me through it. I stand in awe and amazement at Your great grace that saves me, strengthens me, and provides eternity for me and all who trust in You.
