“Arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.” 1 Peter 4:1b-2 NASB

The believer’s purpose is to live for the will of God and not for sinful human desires. While the unbeliever is controlled by his lust and human desire, the believer is to set aside the rest of his life for carrying out God’s purposes. His life is no longer driven by human passions but by a sincere and earnest desire to please and glorify God through all he does. God’s grace, mercy, and love will then flow through the believer to touch the lives of others.

Lord Jesus, I yearn to follow You with all that I am. Teach me from Your Word, the Bible, all I need to do as I live the rest of my days for You.
