“In this, love is perfected with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; for we are as He is in this world.” 1 John 4:17 HCSB

When the believer abides in God and He in him, then the believer’s love grows and properly develops until it fully matures. This perfected love completely penetrates every part of the believer’s life. This abiding love gives the believer confidence to face Judgment Day. On that day when all people stand before God to be judged, the believer can come boldly with great confidence because of the abiding, loving, personal relationship he has with God. The believer’s life is to be filled with the same love and character as Jesus had when He walked on the earth.

Lord Jesus, may Your love and abiding presence so fill my life that I would display Your love in all that I do. Then, I can look forward to judgment and eternity with You.
