“Do not marvel, brethren, if the world hates you.” 1 John 3:13 NASB

Do not be surprised, amazed, or astonished that the world hates Christians. The “world” means the evil culture and society that is opposed to God and His ways. Evil has always hated those who are righteous. Cain hated Abel and murdered him. Even the religious leaders hated Jesus because He exposed their evil ways. Jesus told his disciples that they too would be hated because the world hates Him. There will always be hostility and enmity toward those who are living for God and doing what is right.

Lord Jesus, help me to stand firm and committed to doing right when faced with those who hate me and Your ways. Help me to share Your love and compassion with those who are so filled with hate.
