“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.” 1 John 1:1 NASB

John was an eyewitness! He saw the Word of Life with his own eyes. He touched Jesus with his own hands. He heard Jesus speak with his own ears. John knew from personal experience what he was proclaiming, and what he was telling to others about Jesus. John had become a disciple, a follower of Jesus at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. In the Gospel of John, he wrote that in the beginning before anything was created the Word existed and the Word, Jesus, became flesh and we beheld Him.

Lord Jesus, I am amazed because You created the universe, yet You became a man so we could have a relationship with You. Help me to tell others about You, the Word of Life.
