“Let Your name be established and magnified forever, saying, 'The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel;. . . Now, O LORD, You are God, . . . for You, O LORD, have blessed, and it is blessed forever.” 1 Chronicles 17:24, 26, 27 NASB

The second of two interwoven thoughts that conclude David’s prayer is his praise and adoration of the Lord God Almighty. God’s name, His character, His majesty, and His power are to be magnified and praised forever. He is the Sovereign Lord, the Lord of the mighty host of heaven. He is the God of Israel and the God of David. He is the One who blesses Israel, the house of David, and all who trust Him. The Lord God is to be worshiped, honored, and glorified.

Lord Jesus, You are the Savior, the promised Messiah from the line of David. You are the Lamb of God, sacrificed for my sin. You are the Risen Savior and Eternal Lord.
